How a warranty claim works
- Tell us what you’re seeing. Contact TXED within the coverage period for the affected component. Photos or video help us diagnose the problem and are required before a replacement is approved.
- We confirm the solution and costs. We may help resolve the issue through troubleshooting, approve a replacement or authorize a repair. We explain any shipping or repair cost before you proceed.
- Get the approved work completed. Follow the replacement instructions. For a local repair, get TXED’s approval before booking work and keep an itemized invoice.
What is covered, and for how long?
Coverage is for eligible manufacturing defects. It starts when the original owner receives the bike; repairs or replacements do not restart or extend the original coverage period.
| Component | Coverage period | Covered issue |
|---|---|---|
| Motor | 2 years | Manufacturing defects causing malfunction, significant loss of performance or unusual noise. |
| Battery | 1 year | A defect assessed and confirmed by TXED. |
| Controller, display and electrical components | 2 years | Manufacturing defects in the controller, LCD display, throttle, pedal-assist sensor and main wiring harness. |
| Charger | 2 years | Functional failure caused by a manufacturing defect. |
| Frame | 13 months | Eligible defects requiring a replacement frame. |
| Other original parts and components | 7 months | Manufacturing defects; normal wear is excluded. |
Who pays for parts, shipping and labor?
| Cost | Who pays? |
|---|---|
| Approved defective component within its coverage period | TXED covers the approved repair or replacement component. For a battery or motor, there is no charge for the covered repair or replacement itself. |
| Shipping warranty replacement parts | The customer pays shipping. We confirm the amount before sending the part. Approved arrival-damage and incorrect-item cases are handled at no extra cost. |
| Replacement or changeover labor | The customer pays unless TXED authorizes reimbursement in advance. Frame coverage includes the replacement frame, not changeover labor. |
| Local repair authorized by TXED in advance | TXED reimburses reasonable approved repair costs, up to the defective part’s retail price, against a valid itemized invoice from a professional repair shop. |
| Normal wear, accidental damage or an issue outside warranty | The customer pays for parts and repair. Contact us for troubleshooting and help finding a compatible replacement. |
Approved local-repair reimbursements are processed within 5 business days of receiving the invoice. Battery coverage provides repair or replacement; it does not provide a cash payment instead of a battery.
Who can use this warranty?
This policy applies to U.S. e-bike purchases from txedebikes.com. Registration is automatic when the original buyer orders. The coverage period begins when that owner receives the product.
If you bought the bike secondhand, contact us with the original owner’s name and original order number. You can use the remaining component-specific coverage if it has not expired; the warranty clock does not restart.
For a bike bought from another dealer, contact that dealer for after-sales service. All TXED owners can contact our team for troubleshooting throughout the bike’s lifetime.
Warranty parts ship only within the lower 48 United States. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or other U.S. territories. Products used or purchased outside the supported shipping area are excluded.
E-bikes are not sold to people under 18. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult.
Arrival damage and the 30-day return window
If the box or bike arrives damaged, take photos or video before fully unpacking and email TXED within 48 hours. We arrange the appropriate replacement part, repair or replacement bike at no extra cost. If a return is needed, we provide a prepaid label.
After 48 hours, damage or defect reports are reviewed under this warranty rather than the arrival-damage return process. Shipping-damage claims must be submitted within 7 days of receipt.
The 30-day return policy is separate from warranty coverage. Eligible change-of-mind returns require 10 miles or fewer and suitable condition; the customer pays return shipping. See the return policy for approval, packaging and any applicable fees.
Frame replacement conditions
Frame coverage provides a replacement frame only. Changing parts over is not included and must be performed by a TXED-authorized employee. Contact us before arranging this work.
A replacement may come from scratch-and-dent stock. If the original style or color is unavailable, TXED may provide a compatible style or color.
Frame coverage excludes corrosion, paint fading, scratches, impact marks or damage, irreversible modifications such as drilling or welding, and chain-guard mounts where applicable.
Battery and electrical care
Use the battery and charger specified for your model. Damage from an unsuitable charger, improper charging, broken or tampered seals, use in other equipment, or a battery not specified for your e-bike is excluded.
Matching voltage alone does not establish compatibility. An unapproved battery can have a different protection system and may damage the motor or display. Contact TXED before purchasing a replacement.
TXED assesses battery defects directly. A repaired or replaced battery, motor, controller, display or electrical component keeps the remaining original coverage period.
What the limited warranty does not cover
- Normal wear and appearance changes: wear unrelated to a manufacturing defect, including brake pads, rotors, spokes, tires, tubes, chains, chainrings, cassettes, cranksets and grips; corrosion or deterioration from exposure; surface-finish or cosmetic damage not caused by TXED.
- Damage from use or care: accidents, abuse, misuse, stunt riding, racing, other use outside the intended purpose, neglect, improper storage or maintenance, abnormal physical or electrical stress, and abnormal exposure to liquids, chemicals, moisture, abrasives, sand or dirt.
- Unapproved equipment or work: damage caused by accessories or equipment not supplied or approved by TXED, or assembly, testing, operation, installation, service, repair or adjustment that differs from the assembly instructions and owner’s manual.
- External events: collision, fire, flooding, windstorms, lightning, earthquakes, weather exposure, theft, blown fuses or improper use of an electrical source.
- Identification and location: removed, altered, damaged or unreadable serial numbers or barcodes, and products used or purchased outside the supported shipping areas.
- Free accessories: complimentary accessories are not covered by the warranty. They are not included in replacement or compensation for transit-related scratches.
- Labor without prior approval: replacement or changeover labor is not included unless TXED has authorized a local-repair reimbursement before the work.
Even when an issue is outside coverage, you can contact TXED for troubleshooting and help identifying compatible parts.
